Gloria Steinem
Gloria Steinem is a social activist and organizer who became nationally recognized as a leader for the feminist movement in the 1960s and 70s. As a writer, her powerful articles on gender equity brought her fame as a leading voice for feminism. She co-founded a number of organizations to further women’s rights and raise awareness of discrimination, including the National Women’s Political Caucus, the Ms. Foundation for Women, the Free to Be Foundation, and Gloria’s Foundation. She is currently an author, lecturer and media spokeswoman on issues of equality.
